2019 Projects

PROJECTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2019
Aeroponic Tower Garden: Funds were used to purchase three aeroponic tower gardens to be used at Rogers High School in Lauderdale County.

Alloys Park Upgrades: Funds were used to resurface and repair walking trails in Alloy Parks in Colbert County.

A Plus Learning Via Graphing Calculator: Funds were used to purchase (32) TI-84 Graphing Calculators at Haleyville City Schools in Winston County.

Apple IPad Project: Funds were used to purchase twenty Apple iPads and one iPad cart at Haleyville Elementary School in Winston County.

Band Equipment: Funds were used to purchase band equipment for Marion County High School Band.

Band Instruments & Supplies – Brilliant High School: Funds were used to purchase instruments and supplies for Brilliant High School in Marion County.

Cherokee Walking Trail: Funds were used to assist in the cost of paving a walking trail in the town of Cherokee in Colbert County.

Chromebooks: Purchase Chromebooks for the science classroom at Addison High School, for third grade students at Double Spring Elementary School, and for students at Double Springs Middle School in Winston County; Chromebooks for students at Hamilton Middle School in Marion County.

Closing the Digital Divide: Funds were used to purchase Kindle fires, cases, and cart for Tharptown Elementary School in Franklin County.

Colbert Heights Engineering Program: Double robotic equipment inventory for robotics program at Colbert Heights High School in Colbert County.

Communications for Bear Creek Police: Help purchase the new “P25” Digital Radio upgrade for the Bear Creek Police Department in Marion County.

Community Garden & Greenhouse: Purchase items to restock the greenhouse with vegetables and seeds at Colbert Heights High School in Colbert County.

Don Michael Memorial Plaque: Purchase a plaque in the Town of Lexington in Lauderdale County in memory of Don Michael, killed in the Vietnam Conflict.

Environmental Playground: Purchase two rolls of playground turf to create a beautiful playground at Hamilton Christian Academy in Marion County.

Farm City Tours for Florence City Schools: Help provide transportation for students to tour farm operations in Lauderdale County.

FCCLA National Competition: Help register students attending the national competition held in California. Students were from schools in Lauderdale County.

Flags for Cherokee: Purchase seasonal banners for Cherokee Main Street in Colbert County.

Franklin County Fire Safety Program: Assist in the repairs and upgrade of the Fire Safety Trailer for the Russellville Fire Department in Franklin County.

Franklin County Special Response: Purchase 3 Taser X26 P’s, a great tool for a less lethal force by Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team.

Greenhouse Production and Sales: Purchase greenhouse equipment and supplies for the greenhouse at Phil Campbell High School in Franklin County.

Gymnasium Audio Communications: Help buy audio equipment for the communication project at Sheffield City Schools in Colbert County.

Hamilton Elem. School PE Track: Funds were used to build a new sports court at Hamilton Elementary School in Marion County.

Hamilton Elem. School Playground: Purchase new playground equipment at Hamilton Elementary School in Marion County.

Healing Place Lighting Project: Purchase office furniture & therapeutic tools & equipment for Healing Place in Colbert County and serving multiple counties.

Helen Keller Festival: Assist in the cost of publicity, historical tours, parade and other Festival activities held in the city of Tuscumbia in Colbert County.

Horticultural Training Center: Funds were used to assist in the cost of the hydroponic expansion project at Lauderdale County High School.

“Hud1 Up”: Purchase a new volleyball net system including safety padding for Phillips High School in Marion County.

Interactive White Board Initiative: Purchase interactive white boards for Meek High School in Winston County.

It’s A Dickens Christmas: Pay for advertising of the Christmas event which is held annually in downtown Tuscumbia – Colbert County.

LambJam and Farm-to-table Events: Cover cost of LambJam Outreach Event educating attendees on the positives of lamb meat and local food and providing a meal made of local lamb. Promote Farm-to-Table

Technical Events on No-Till Drill benefits for farmers and producers to ensure better pastures and crop lands.

Lexington School Computer Lab: Purchased headphones for testing & other computer activities at Lexington Elementary School in Lauderdale County.

Lexington Youth Softball: Assist in the upgrade of bleachers and other equipment at the Lexington Youth Softball Field in Lauderdale County.

Making Sure that Your Love Ones Get to Come Home: Purchase Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) for Russellville in Franklin County.

Marion County Envirothon: T-shirts, binders, snacks, registration fees and mileage for Hamilton High School students representing Marion County in the state competition.

Milk Cooler Replacement: Replace 2 milk boxes and 2 ice cream freezers at Franklin County Schools.

Mother/Daughter Symposium: Symposium held by Franklin County Extension to educate mothers/daughter in financial and life management.

Neighbor Day – Town of Hackleburg: Pay for entertainment during the festival held in the Town of Hackleburg in Marion County.

North Alabama African Heritage Festival: Pay for audio, lighting, and video assistance of performers; fees for performers and offset of insurance cost; festival is held in the City of Tuscumbia in Colbert County.

One-to-One Initiative – Lynn High School: Purchase 17 Chromebooks at Lynn High School in Winston County.

Oka Kapassa Native Festival: Funds were used to assist in the cost of the Oka Kapassa Festival held at Spring Park, in the City of Tuscumbia in Colbert County.

Parking Lot Paving: Aassist in the cost of the completion of the parking lot paving project at Guin Elementary School in Marion County.

PHS Band Equipment: Purchase band instruments for the Phillips High School Band in Marion County.

Phillips High School Intercom System: Assist in the cost of a new intercom system at Phillip High School in Marion County.

Playground Refurbish (New Bethel Elementary School): Add rubber mulch and a rubberized border to the playground area and also picnic tables at New Bethel Elementary School in Colbert County.

PPE Replacement: Purchase Nomex gloves & boots for Ashridge Vol. Fire Dept in Winston County.

Project LifeSaver: Purchase Project Lifesaver Equipment for Winston County Sheriff’s Dept.

The Racing Readers: Purchase the Accelerated Reader Program and books for Phillips Elementary School in Marion County.

Radio’s For Main Street: Purchase 17 Kenwood radios and 3 6-base charging stations to assist during events in the downtown area of Winfield Main Street in Marion County.

Recycling Project Phase 2: Promote “Meek goes Green” recycling project in the Meek schools in Winston County.

Research Roundup: Purchase shelving for the library at Hackleburg Elementary School in Marion County.

Riverfront Park Redesign Project: Pay for the study of a redesign of Sheffield’s Riverfront Park Project for the City of Sheffield in Colbert County.

RHS College Readiness Enhancing Technology: Purchase 50 Chromebooks at Russellville High School in Franklin County.

School Security Entrance: Purchase a door release intercom system to be used at the front entrance of Haleyville Elementary School.
Security Doors: Funds were used toward the upgrade of security equipment at Winfield Middle School in Marion County.

Shoals Earth Day (12th Annual): Funds for education, entertainment and music during the Festival held in Florence, AL in Lauderdale County.

Sonic Smart Board: Purchase a 65-inch and a 55-inch View Sonic SmartBoards for classrooms at Double Springs Elementary in Winston County.

Spay & Neuter Assistance: A sponsorship to pay veterinarians who perform spay/neuter services for pets of approved applicants and to promote our program and RC&D in Lauderdale County.

Summer Reading Program 2019: Purchase, process & give away books for every child, & reading incentive prizes at Marion County’s Northwest Regional Library.

Steve Trash Science: Pay for Science episode on Alabama Public Television “Production Underwriter” serving multiple counties.

Technology Upgrade – Brilliant Elementary: Purchase 65” TV Bundle including trolley cart for Brilliant Elementary School in Marion County.

Winter Food Project: Purchase food including fresh food options for needy family, equipment for proper transportation, handling, & storage of the food; office material for record keeping of patrons. This project was located in Sheffield, AL in Colbert County.
